Comparison of two T.S. Eliot Poems
T.S. Eliot wrote The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock in 1917 when he was 29, and he wrote Little Gidding in 1942 when he was 54. Thus, the first poem is the work of a young man, while the second poem is the work of a much older man. When we compare them, we find that each poem has a very different voice. We often think that young people are happier than older people.
